James Vallance, also known as Mr SEAKs, is an artist based in Sydney, Australia.

What began as a graffiti tag, SEAK, became an alter ego - A way to escape, express, and explore. As a kid who sometimes felt out of place, art became a space where James could be as weird or as cool as he wanted. That early love for graffiti grew into characters, storytelling, and design, eventually evolving into the distinct, energetic style he’s known for today.

His work blends motion, personality, and play, with a focus on bold design, vibrant character, and a sense of wonder. It has gained a following online and been exhibited in Times Square NYC for NFT.NYC and in Bali for a Nouns pop-up.

During the day, James works full-time at Sydney motion studio Never Sit Still as a senior motion designer. Past 6pm, Mr SEAKs comes out to create, working on his own personal artistic practice.

With a Bachelor of Design in Animation from UTS, James brings together animation, design, and editing to tell stories that are expressive, lighthearted, and full of life — always signed, in spirit, by Mr SEAKs.
